Trump Threatens BRICS Nations With Hundred Percent Tariff

Recently, Donald Trump made headlines with a bold statement aimed at the BRICS nations, which include influential economies like Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. In a post on Truth Social, he issued a stark warning: if these countries try to undermine the U.S. dollar by creating a new currency or supporting alternatives, they could face 100% tariffs on their goods.


Trump stressed the importance of a commitment from BRICS nations not to pursue a new currency that could challenge the U.S. dollar. He declared, “We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs.”

Trump further cautioned that if they do not comply, these nations should "expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S." This statement underscores the potential economic consequences they could face if they move away from the dollar.

This warning highlights the ongoing tensions surrounding the U.S. dollar's dominance in global trade and the challenges posed by emerging economies that are exploring alternatives. Trump's remarks reflect a broader concern about maintaining the dollar's status in an increasingly multipolar world.

Simon Ekpa, a Finnish-Nigerian activist and self-proclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, was recently arrested in Finland alongside four others on suspicion of terrorism-related activities. Ekpa is linked to the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group campaigning for the independence of southeastern Nigeria.
