CAMEROON MILITARY MAY BE INVOLVED IN WAR CRIMES
As the war in the English speaking zone of Cameroon continues, the population keep living in fear for what can happen at any time. Several war crimes keeps being committed by the military like burning down of schools, burning down of hospitals, burning down of villages, public execution of separatist fighters even when the have been arrested and the government is yet to call any of the forces to order. Most military men don't know anything about war crimes or have kept on committing them with so much impunity because they know no one is going to go down for all the crimes.
A disturbing video recently surface online where the military storm a private hospital in the north west region of Cameroon and pick up a separatist fighter who was recieving treatment at the hospital after obtaining bullet wounds from an earlier confrontation with the military. The fighter is known in his community as general Efang and has been fighting with the ADF group of Dr Ayaba Cho Lucas.
The military carried him from his sick bed while he was unconscious and he didn't even know what was going on. The leader of ADF has issue a statement condemning the act and also a statement that the nurses that where incharge of Efang at the hospital have been arrested by other ADF fighters for interrogation and also to know how the military got the information that Efang was recieving treatment at that location.
What ever will happen to Efang is not yet known because the government is yet to make any official statement. Others fighters that have been picked up by the military of late in similar manner are usually killed and their corpses display in public as a way to demoralised other fighters.
One thing very clear is that these are all war crimes and it has been committed over and over by the military.
