At least 12 killed in Madagascar stadium stampede.

A tragic stampede at the Mahamasina Municipal Stadium in Antananarivo, Madagascar has resulted in the loss of at least 12 lives and left dozens more injured. The incident unfolded during an attempt to enter the stadium for a local football match on August 26, 2023. The stadium, hosting a football match between AS Adema and SOE Antananarivo, became the site of the disaster when a dense crowd attempted to pass through a narrow entrance. Unable to accommodate the influx of people, the gate gave way, leading to a horrific stampede in which individuals were crushed or injured. As of August 27, 2023, the death toll continues to rise, with confirmed casualties reaching a minimum of 12 and over 50 individuals receiving medical treatment for their injuries.
