NIGERIAN PRESIDENT ENTANGLE IN FORGERY ALLEGATIONS

Nigeria's President, Bola Tinubu, stands accused of fabricating a diploma from an American university. The alleged falsification was submitted to Nigeria's election commission prior to the February vote. The accusations have been brought forth by Atiku Abubakar, the runner-up in the election, and his legal representative. Their claims rely on evidence obtained from the university during court proceedings in the United States. These records have also been shared with The Associated Press. Tinubu and his spokesperson vehemently deny these allegations, including the most recent one. The controversy has captivated the attention of numerous Nigerians, particularly after a highly contentious election where Tinubu secured victory with less than 50% of the total votes, marking a significant departure from Nigeria's historical norms.

The accusations against Tinubu have intensified public resentment and exasperation, prompting countless pleas for a comprehensive inquiry into the affair.

Tinubu's associates have been indicted for causing confusion among the general public regarding the purported fabrication of official documents. Atiku Abubakar has demanded a comprehensive inquiry into this issue, emphasizing the gravity of the accusations and urging against dismissing them casually. During this session, the committee is reviewing Cameroon's fifth periodic report on its compliance with the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. Simon Ekpa Arrested in Finland

Simon Ekpa, a Finnish-Nigerian activist and self-proclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, was recently arrested in Finland alongside four others on suspicion of terrorism-related activities. Ekpa is linked to the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a group campaigning for the independence of southeastern Nigeria.
