The president expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Patrick Achi and all contributors of the government for their commitment to serving the country during the last years. They will remain temporarily in charge until a new prime minister and other government members are appointed. The move comes a few years into the presidential elections that are scheduled for 2025.

The dismissal of Prime Minister Patrick Achi and the dissolution of the government have been met with mixed reactions from the general public. Some have praised the move, saying that it became necessary to bring about exchange and enhance the country's economy and social welfare. Others have criticized the flow, saying it was politically encouraged and geared toward consolidating the president's strength in the upcoming election.

President Ouattara was re-elected in 2020 and has no longer yet said whether or not he will run again in 2025. His party, the Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace (RHDP), received 60% of municipalities and 80% of the regions within the September 2023 local elections, making it the favourite for the 2025 presidential elections.

Ivory Coast has a history of political instability and violence, with two civil wars which took place about two decades ago. The country has made substantial progress in the current years, with monetary growth averaging 8% consistent with 12 months. However, poverty and inequality remain excessive, and the country faces huge challenges in terms of governance, corruption, and human rights. the international community has expressed concern about the recent political developments in Ivory Coast and the potential impact on democracy, stability, and human rights in the country. Different organizations and countries are responding in different ways, with some expressing concern and others offering support for development and peacebuilding efforts in the country.
