why is there an increase in the number of migrants in to Tunisia

The increase in the number of migrants entering Tunisia can be attributed to several factors:

Pull Factors: Tunisia offers relatively more stability, economic opportunities, and social services compared to some neighboring countries. It has a relatively better-developed infrastructure, access to education and healthcare, and a reputation for being more open to migrants. These factors attract individuals seeking a better life or hoping to find opportunities for employment or education.

Human Trafficking: Some migrants may be victims of human trafficking networks that exploit vulnerable individuals, promising them a better life in Tunisia or even Europe. These criminal networks often take advantage of desperate circumstances and offer false promises, leading individuals to make perilous journeys.

Regional and International Dynamics: Political changes, conflicts, and economic disparities in neighboring countries has also influence migration patterns. These factors, combined with the overall global migration trends, has contribute to an increase in the number of migrants seeking refuge or better opportunities in Tunisia.

Push Factors: Migrants are often compelled to leave their home countries due to various push factors, such as political instability, social unrest, economic hardships, poverty, lack of job opportunities, and armed conflicts. These conditions may prompt individuals to seek better prospects and safety elsewhere, including Tunisia.
