A WOMAN GIVES REASON FOR ENGAGING IN TO DRUG TRAFFICKING

 A mother of three kids by name Jatau  Lydia Lami, 35 years of age who was arrested on Sunday the 31st July 2022 by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for drug trafficking has today said the motive behind her engaging in to drugs was to raise N5m as  ransom to pay bandits. She was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, for attempting to export 1,700 tablets of Tramadol 225mg concealed in her luggages to Istanbul, Turkey through Turkish Airline flight. 

        



The suspect hails from Zango in Kaduna State, Nigeria and lives in Istanbul, Turkey with her family.

The NDLEA spoke person, Femi Babafemi, said in a statement on Sunday 07th  August 2022, stated that the suspect blamed her action on pressure to raise N5million ransom to free her mother from the captivity of bandits who kidnapped her since June.
