Nigerian man beaten to death in Italy.

A Nigerian man by name Alika Ogorchukwu, has been beaten to death in Civitanova Marche city in the Province of Macerata, Marche Region of Italy. The Nigerian Embassy in Rome confirmed the news in a statement. “The incident occurred on a busy street, in front of shocked onlookers, some of whom made videos of the attack, with little or no attempt to prevent it,” the statement said. “His Excellency, Ambassador Mfawa Omini Abam has condemned the gruesome murder and has commiserated with Mrs. Charity Oriachi, wife of the deceased and the rest of his family. The Embassy said it is currently collaborating with relevant Italian authorities to ensure justice is served. Watch video of the incident bellow 

kIDNAPERS OF TWO NIGERIAN ACTORS HAVE FINALLY DEMANDED FOR RANSOME

 The kidnappers of two actors have today asked for  $100,000 as Ransome. It should be noted that Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel are actors in the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood ) who were kidnapped on the 28th of July 2022, as announced by the president of Actors Guide in Nigeria by name Emeka Rollas. He also stated that they are working closely with the securities and calling on the population in prayers. These actors were abducted on their way from a movie set in Ozalla in Enugu state and later on, it was noticed that money from the accounts of these actors have been withdrawn by an unknown person.

 A Nigerian pastor in South Africa has been mercilessly beaten by his church members for using church money to buy his wife a car Pastor Adeleke used the money deposited into the church’s bank account to buy a gift for his wife on her birthday. The church members became so angry after finding out and later got the pastor well beaten immediately he arrived church. The case Is still being investigated by the South African police.

Cameroon: Student attempt ending her life after failing to pass the Baccalaureate exams

A young girl by name Christelle Bouzeka is said to have attempted to Commit suicide after she Failed to Pass this year’s Baccalaureate exams. The young lady couldn’t bear the news of her failing the exams and decided  to drink close to a liter of kerosene with the aim of taking her own life. Christelle was rushed to the hospital and is said to be currently receiving treatment and is battling between life and death. This incident happened in Bandjoun, West Region of Cameroon.

French President Emmanuel Macron to visit Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau

  French President Emmanuel Macron will be on a visit to Cameroon, Benin and Guinea-Bissau,  from July 25 to 28,   According to the presidency, t he visit will focus on the food crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, agricultural production issues and security issues, according to the presidency. Per the agenda,  The first stage of this trip will be on Tuesday in Cameroon where he  will discuss With president Paul Biya the possibilities of French investment in Cameroonian agriculture. On Wednesday, the French president will travel to Benin and  On Thursday, Emmanuel Macron will end his tour in Guinea-Bissau, a small West African country. It will be Macron’s first trip to a lusophone country on the African continent. Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embalo is about to take over the leadership of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

 Several individuals are in shock and panic this Wednesday evening the 20th of July 2022, at the Tiko-Mutengene road in the South West Region of Cameroon where a truck crushed three vehicles thereby causing a lot of casualties. A driver in a taxi was able to escape death by jumping out of the car all for safety. (More details coming up....)

Fuel scarcity hits Cameroon’s Capital, YaoundΓ©

 Filling stations in different part of YaoundΓ© which is the political capital of Cameroon have been flooded with bikes and Car owners seeking to buy fuel. Drivers flooded Total Nkomkana a filling station in Yaounde yesterday , upon hearing that the station had fuel.  Many are forced to spend hours at the filling stations standing on long queues trying to buy fuel which is unavailable. Several filling stations across the city had to shut down because of lack of fuel 

Malaysian officials seize African elephant tusks and pangolin scales worth $18M

Malaysian authorities said Monday they have seized a container of African elephant tusks, pangolin scales and other animal skulls and bones estimated to be worth 80 million ringgit ($18 million). The Customs Department said in a statement it discovered the contraband hidden behind sawn timber following checks on July 10 on a ship coming from Africa. This included 6,000 kilograms (13,227 pounds) of elephant tusks, 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of pangolin scales, 25 kilograms (55 pounds) of rhino horns and 300 kilograms (661 pounds) of animal skulls, bones and horns, it said. Investigations are ongoing on the importer and shipping agent, the department said without providing further details. It was unclear if the container was meant to be shipped to other parts of Asia. Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh is dead.   The star died on Sunday in Warri, Delta State.   Her death has been confirmed by Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.   It was gathered that ‘The Johnsons’ star, collapsed and died around 11 pm on Sunday  The actress was popular for her role of Anita in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996, and also for comic characters, especially in the series The Johnsons. Recall, Ada lost her only child back in October 2020. Up until her death, the actress mentioned that she was battling a mental illness. She was 48 years old.

Video shows massive group of illegal migrants crossing into US

Hundreds of illegal migrants have been captured on camera crossing into the United States through the southern border in Texas. This reportedly marks one of the largest groups to flood into the U.S. in recent months. In the video shared on Twitter by Fox News reporter Bill Melugin, hundreds of illegal border crossers were being guided into the water by smugglers at the river in Eagle Pass, Texas, on Wednesday, July 14. “The line of people went so far into the trees, it’s hard to get a count. Hundreds upon hundreds.” Melugin tweeted. In another tweet, Melugin revealed that when the group first entered the water, no Border Patrol officers were on scene,  “only one Texas National Guard humvee.”  Federal sources told Fox there were 2,258 illegal crossings in Del Rio Sector on Tuesday alone. Nigeria: Many feared dead as building collapses in Lagos

Many people were feared dead after a building in the Onipanu area of Lagos State collapsed in the early hours of Wednesday. The affected building is said to be at Oke Arin street, off Shyllon Ilupeju. The incident reportedly happened at about 1.07 am on Wednesday. It was gathered that this incident happened barely two weeks after a church building under construction collapsed opposite Number 17, Cardoso Street, off Martins Street in Mushin. The Onipanu incident was confirmed by the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr Oluwafemi Oke-Osanyintolu. “The Alpha Cobra team of Lagos State Emergency at Onipanu En route Oke Arin street off shyllon Ilupeju.” He said. It is not clear the number of casualties recorded in the latest incident.

Cameroon; Heavy rain fall in Tiko, mile 14 and Mutengene leaves many homeless

In the Southwest Region of Cameroon, precisely Tiko Mutengene and Buea experienced heavy rainfall in the early hour of Saturday the 9th of June which led to the loss of properties. the poor drainage system in this area also caused many roads to be blocked with lots of drivers and passengers stranded.       Due to this rainfall, a minor at Lamber quarter in Mutengene was carried away and his corpse was later found after a thorough search by inhabitants of the locality. A building also collapse at Mutegene and 2 children were injured and are presently receiving treatment in the hospital  .

Rwandan President Paul Kagame to Seek Reelection in 2024

  Rwandan President Paul Kagame in an interview with France 24  announced that he will be seeking another term in office in the upcoming 2024 elections.  Kagame has ruled Rwanda for over two decades. “I consider running for another 20 years. I have no problem with that,” he told the France 24 news channel “Elections are about people choosing,” he added.   In the last presidential election in 2017, official figures showed he won 99% percent of the vote. The Friday announcement is a u-turn from the president’s comments in 2019 in which he said he was unlikely to seek re-election in 2024

Cameroon: Brigade Commander killed In Cameroon’s Restive Northwest English-speaking Region

  Early Friday, July 8, 2022, the commander of Mbiame Gendarmerie Brigade, was ambushed and killed by separatist fighters at a checkpoint in Mbiame, a locality in the Bui division Northwest region. Separatist commander simply identified as “general no pity” claimed responsibility for the attack and displayed the body of the slain commander on social media. In a video circulating on social media, No Pity with his fighters brought a coffin and transported the corpse of Richard Bakodock to an unknown destination. Cameroon’s two English-speaking regions of Northwest and Southwest have been experiencing an armed separatist conflict since 2017.

Angola’s former president dos Santos dies aged 79

Former Angolan president Jose Eduardo dos Santos has died, according to a statement from government officials issued Friday. The ailing 79-year-old leader had remained on life support for days in a Barcelona hospital, and his death was not unexpected. The statement from Angolan President JoΓ£o LourenΓ§o called dos Santos “a statesman of great historical dimension, who ruled for many years with clarity” during oft-difficult times. Dos Santos served as Angola’s longtime leader from 1979 to 2017 before stepping aside. Dos Santos had been hospitalized in an intensive care unit after recovering from COVID-19 and a reported fall. He was in an induced coma at the facility in Spain. The dos Santos death followed controversy in recent days over discontinuing his life support measures, as well as charges of negligence from family members angry over his care.

Central African Republic To Become One of The First African Countries To Have Their Own Digital Currency

  The country, which was the first in the continent of Africa to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender in April 2022, announced its own digital currency, according to the nation’s leader. “Sango Coin will be the currency for the next generation,” President Faustin-Archange Touadera said in a virtual briefing .  The digital money may be widely available in 2022’s third quarter. “The Central African Republic sits on a mountain of resources — gold, diamonds, rare minerals, unexploited resources. Sango Coin will enable the direct access to our resources for the whole world,” Touadera said. Although Central Africa Republic is one of the first African countries to embrace digital currency, it isn’t the only. Afrotech previously  reported  that Ghana will also launch a new digital currency — e-cedi, which aims to move consumers away from decentralized crypto currencies like Bitcoin.

WAFCON 2022: Three countries qualify for quarter-finals

  South Africa became the third team to advance to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). In Rabat on Thursday, Bayana Bayana defeated Burundi 3-1. As a result, South Africa strengthened their hold on first place in Group C, where they currently have six points after two matches. Morocco and Senegal are two more teams that have advanced to the round of eight in this competition. They have both won their first two fixtures against Uganda and Burkina Faso the other two teams in Group A. On Friday, Morocco and Senegal face off to decide the winner of the group.

ISWAP Terrorists Threaten To Attack More Prisons In Nigeria, Other Countries

The Islamic state of Africa province (ISWAP) terrorist group has vowed to attack more prisons in Nigeria and other parts of the world. The group had earlier claimed responsibility for the attack on Kuje Prison in Abuja. The facility was under attack by gunmen. According to multiple sources, the terrorists invaded the facility around 9:05 pm and operated till 1:30am on Wednesday morning.  over 800 inmates including terrorists escaped during the attack by gunmen. However, ISWAP in a video released on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the attack. In the video, the terrorist sect showed some of its men shooting their way into the facility. ISWAP added that its fighters would continue attacking prisons in different parts of the world.
